Automated payments (direct debits) deduct the total amount due at the time the payment is scheduled to be taken. This may not suit your purposes if you are in a shared tenancy, as automation can only be set up to come from a single bank account.
To pay your rent from multiple bank accounts, please see Rent Payments Using MePay (PropertyMe Mobile App) or Invoice Payments Using MePay (PropertyMe Mobile App) for steps.
- On the Home screen, Tap on the Automatic Payment Settings section.
- On the next screen, tap the property address.
- Tap the toggle against Rent and/or Invoices. The toggle will turn green.
- If you are only enabling automation for invoices, skip to step 5.
- If you are enabling automation for rent, move on to step 4.
- For rent automation, you can choose between an Automatic or Customised schedule.
- The Automatic schedule option tracks the current rent due date and debits the amount owed three business days before the due date.
- The Customised schedule allows you to set the amount, frequency, start and end dates for your automation.
- Please note that since you manually set up an amount to pay, this amount will not automatically update for rent increases. You must update the amount as required.
- These payments can take up to three business days to process.
- To avoid going into rent arrears, we recommend that you set the start date at least three days before the current due date.
- The Automatic schedule option tracks the current rent due date and debits the amount owed three business days before the due date.
- Tap Update to save.
